NCTO Mission

The mission of the North Carolina Taekwondo Organization (NCTO) is to enable North Carolina Taekwondo athletes to achieve sustained competitive excellence and to promote and grow the sport of Taekwondo. We also facilitate training and certification programs for athletes, coaches and referees. NCTO is a non-profit IRS 501 © 3 Tax Exempt Organization. This organization is the official Sate Association to USA Taekwondo, Inc. (USAT). USAT is the National Governing Body for sport Taekwondo and is an official member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). As the official State Association to the USAT, NCTO is mandated to host the official 2010 USAT-North Carolina Taekwondo Championship scheduled for March 6, 2010 in Fayetteville, NC. Medal winners from the state championships advance to the US Junior Olympic and National Taekwondo Championships scheduled for June 29th through July 4, 2010 in Orlando, FL. Taekwondo became an official Olympic Sport at the 2000 Olympic Games held in Sydney, Australia. It had been a demonstration sport at the 1988 Olympic Games held in Seoul, Korea and the 1992 Olympic Games held in Barcelona, Spain.
